Chinese Vice Prime Minister Liu Yandong and Delegation on Visit at EUREF Campus in Berlin

On 25 November 2016, Chinese Vice Prime Minister Liu Yandong, Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang, and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Germany Shi Mingde visited the EUREF campus in Berlin. The visit was co-ordinated by INFRANEU. At the occasion, Professor Kai Strunz gave a presentation on the WindNODE project.

Smart Grid, Smart Meter, Smart Citizen

What are the roles of smart grid, smart meter, und smart citizen in the Berlin of the future? How does Berlin evolve as a modern electropolis of the 21st century? Official Kick-off of Research Campus Mobility2Grid

Research Campus Mobility2Grid officially kicked off activities. There are a total of nine Research Campus sites supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany. The research of Mobility2Grid focuses on solutions at the intersection of mobility and energy. Professor Kai Strunz and Andreas Raab participated in the kick-off and represented theme field 2 on smart grid infrastructures. Berlin, 6 April 2016.

Meeting of MIGRATE Work Package 5 on Power Quality at ELES

Researchers from Electroinštitut Milan Vidmar, Elering, ELES, Tallinn University of Technology, TenneT, TU Berlin, University of Ljubljana, and University of Manchester met at ELES to discuss the activities on power quality in the MIGRATE project. Ljubljana, Slovenia, 5 April 2016.

EU project SuSTAINABLE held its final event to share the findings. Professor Kai Strunz participated in the panel “Strategic Challenges and Solutions for Smart Grids” moderated by António Aires Messias of project coordinator EDP Distribuição. Professor Hatziargyriou, Chairman of the Board and CEO at Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator SA (HEDNO) visited TU Berlin. The discussions centered on common EU research activities and CIGRE. Berlin, 21 March 2016.

PSCC Technical Program Committee Meeting 2016 in Lausanne

At the occasion of the meeting of the Technical Program Committee of the Power Systems Computation Conference PSCC, Professor Strunz also visited the microgrid laboratory of EPFL. Lausanne, Switzerland, 20 January 2016.

Kick-off for MIGRATE: International Project Investigates Requirements for Europe's Future Electricity Grid

A total of 25 consortium partners from 13 European countries, including twelve transmission system operators (TSO), as well as universities and research institutions, jointly launched the MIGRATE project. The project name is derived from the research topic "Massive InteGRATion of power Electronic devices". Mr. Samuel Schilling attended the meeting. Brussels, Belgium, 20 January 2016.

Launch of Activities on Smart Grid Infrastructures of Research Campus Mobility2Grid

The theme field 2 “Smart Grid Infrastructures” of the Research Campus Mobility2Grid started its activities with participants from BLS Energieplan, Deutsche Bahn Energie, Fraunhofer ISE, HTW Berlin, Schneider Electric, Stromnetz Berlin, and TU Berlin. SENSE of TU Berlin is the theme field coordinator. Berlin, 13 January 2016.
