National Projects

The department SENSE participates in the following research projects in collaboration with national partners:

Research Campus Mobility2Grid [1]


The electrification of the transportation sector offers a unique opportunity to explore energy and transport systems for the identification and utilization of synergies. The research campus Mobility2Grid, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, realizes innovative solutions to ensure the supply of electricity, heat and transport in the long term in an affordable and safe manner and completely based on renewable energies. more to: Research Campus Mobility2Grid [2]



As part of the "Energy Transition in Transport" research initiative, the project "Smart Harbor-Application Renewable-Integration Concept" examines the integration of renewable energy sources into the port infrastructure and suprastructure as well as the logistical operating processes for various future scenarios exemplarily for the port area "√úberseehafen" in Bremerhaven. By modeling different scenarios and taking into account different effects (energy consumption, costs, CO2 reduction, environmental impacts) particularly advantageous scenarios should be worked out. The results serve the sustainable development of the harbor district. more to: SHARC [4]



The project OVANET has the primary objective to give new impulses for energy revolution with the help of research and development of integrated and acceptable network infrastructures. more to: OVANET [6]

Smart Grid Alliance Adlershof [7]

Multi Energy Carrier Smart Grid
Multi Energy Carrier Smart Grid

"Smart Grid Alliance Adlershof" is part of the project "Energy network Berlin Adlershof" supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy. This collaborative project is realized by TU Berlin, HTW Berlin and Siemens AG. The primary objective is to research and plan a multi energy carrier Smart Grid for the campus Adlershof. more to: Smart Grid Alliance Adlershof [8]
