Secure Operational Control of Large-Scale Renewable Energy Systems and Power Grids
0430 L 501
We will first investigate the emergence of the power grid as a European system and discuss how it will develop in the future to integrate renewables on a large scale. In dedicated sessions, we learn about the foundations for modeling and control of those systems, including the technical aspects of power flow computation, data management, and network security. We show how this knowledge helps in formulating and finding optimal solutions for integrating a large number of renewable power plants into the system. The lectures are complemented by a group project to foster a good own understanding of the material.
